  1. Back in the old days of Tim Host, I would name my ships by area and and issue my ship orders in name order. Then I could issue orders to each group of ships more easily than having to progress down a list of widely scattered ships by ID number - hoping I remembered what I was trying to do in each small area when I got back to it. There is just no convenient way to do this in map mode without risking all sorts of possible errors.

  2. I would like the ability to limit the number of torpedos my ship fires in the upcoming battle. A Friendly Code such as "sf4" would order the captain to only fire 4 torpedos. This would not only conserve munitions, but help improve chances of 'capturing' an enemy ship, rather than destroying it.

  3. This is the second game I'm noticing this bug in. 44861: Chrome Sector, s#23 has not moved in several turns, even though a waypoint was set (see time machine). I've changed the waypoint this turn to see if that fixes it (as it seemed to do in 48066: Doggle Sector) , but it sure would be great not to have the problem in the first place.

  4. If the Evil Empire's "Free Fighters" were really free, there would be no problem. But since they eat up a planets minerals, I think a Friendly Code is needed, such as "NFT", for No Fighters. Late in games the Empire, if managed correctly, has more fighters than needed & can better use minerals for torpedoes or ship construction. And the Empire needs all the help they can get to be competitive.

  5. Is is possible to change your account registered name so it will show always as your player name ? I have editted my account ...but i still show up as the names I registered with ...do I have to wait till the old account expires ?

  7. Since we have an emperor, i suggest that a scenario be played from the old winplan called Ashes of the old empire. To remove or keep the current emperor.

  8. Let the automatic, mindless computer send automatic replacement notifications to (ranked) race players with open slots. Can be refined to search players who have played with game players in the past etc.

    "Greetings Master Big-T, there is an open Romulan position in Dropout Fest XIII, 100 planets, 50 warships. Click here to see details and possible fulfill your DESTINY!"

    Naturally users could turn these emails off.

  9. To prevent the misuse of this game mechanic. Make the base kill number for crew deaths variable each turn to prevent players from 'down-sizing' their crews to achieve combat advantages (i.e. having their ships captured rather than being destroyed). A highly variable base radiation kill rate (from x.1 to x10), players would be unable to accurate predict their crew deaths and would be unable to create heavy ships that can be captured to avoid their destruction by opponents.

  10. Since a large majority of us play Planets where we are allowed 1 ally, why not try a Championship Match that emulates our most common format? Have the winning two players crowned Emperor and Co-Emperor, while awarding the player with the most planets the added advantage of creating his new ship. This, I think, would lessen the back-stabbing and add to the general enjoyment we all receive when teaming with another player.

  11. Lord Helmet's useful Mod no longer works. Can it be added to the Planets.Nu interface? It imported map information into the VCR to simulate battles between your own ships and enemies. This was a GREAT time saver!

  12. As fun as the wasps are to fight against their ability to endlessly fling rocks is a PB boon but why not be able to tow those resources back to a planet to use back at them?

  13. The Charts show one line for each Race, but it would be great to have a line on these Charts showing the Total as well.

    A white coloured line is what I suggest to stand out.

    "What I believe we need is some sort of notice period for joining players. This could be in the form of when a player joins, firstly a notice is sent out to all players telling them that "Player# has joined the #Race"

    "Secondly, the player will not be able to play a turn until the next host run (or the following host run if less than 24hrs) but will be able to look at his turn and take part in diplomatic discussions with all other races"

  16. I color-code my planets by why I want to send ships to them. One colour to harvest minerals, one to send colonists, one to send terraformers. It makes planning my ship routes much easier.

    When my opponent steals the planet, the colour stays how I set it, even though the status is changed.

    This leaves me sending colonists or freighters to planets that should get attack ships.

    Since I no longer own the planet, i can't get to the notes section to change it back.

    I'd like the stolen planet to look like an enemy planet.

    Even better, I'd like…

  19. We want to set up a small map for a special game. something like 800x800 and 60 planets. I managed to get it done once for 4 players but we didn't like the planet distribution. Since then we added 2 more players and now all of us keep getting these error messages no matter what we try.
