  1. I think the galaxy is shaped oddly like a bunch of cyborg cube ships. Perhaps we can have some other shapes. Like a "L" or an "X", maybe even a "C" or things not even related to the English alphabet like £

  2. As per rudel:

I always have trouble calculating how many minerals and MC I need to clone a ship. Last turn my cloning failed because I build too many fighters in the same turn...

I initially thought this was unnecessary until I thought about it quite a bit. It is more of a hassle than in 3.5 because the ship data is not available anywhere within the game for ships you can't build. It is silly, with all the improvements you guys are making, that this should be so. Here is the solution I presented...

    My first choice is to

It would be nice to be able to change settings in the config, alter how homeworld positions are calculated etc.

  5. First, i think all is related in a player reputation and a way that a player or group can invite handpicked player one by one in a game. This seems for me the only way which work here. A side supported reputation system could for example give each player at the end of a game a way to rate (ALL player how played in a game) for example the competents, roleplay and sympathy. With this 3 parameters (it could of course more or less) summate in a each player profile other can more easy find the right player.

    At least,…

  6. with multiple waypoints implemented it can be very annoying to misclick and lose a ships waypoints. if there was a way to lock it once you've decided this problem would be solved.

even for ships with a single waypoint, this locking mechanism would be helpful.

  7. Playing BLITZ game, both players lay mines. Both players minesweeping. I go back 1 turn via Time Machine, to check messages. In my past-turn message list, I see the minesweep results of opponent's ships - including readings on his own minefield, with the friendly code. I, of course, being the honorable player that I am... use the new information to my advantage.

  8. 46905: Moth Ball Sector

I signed up and filled in my first turn, but when the turn was completed the parts for the ship I build were in my starbase, but my starbase was un-upgraded and I still had the starting 10k. My turn was definitely flagged as completed so no idea what caused it.

  9. The information panel in the top right corner of the starmap obstructs objects, preventing them from being interacted upon.

This gets particularly noticeable on large panels because they obstruct a large portion of the starmap on lower resolutions (1024x768).

  11. It looks like im not the only one trying to colonise planets with mol, or turning colonists into minerals. Its just to easy to make transfer mistakes.
So i suggest you make the different cargo types look different, in the transfer screens.
I would prefer a frame around clans, as it is the cargo type that causes the most problems.

But perhaps its enough to simply give the textlines
(cargo type, and amount) different colours.
I suggest to stay true to the original dos colours, neutronium is red, trit is blue, dur is yellow, mol is green.
    Keep clans at…

  12. It would be useful if a Game Host could eject players from games they Host. In order to reduce the chances of abuse, the ejection would have to happen within the first turn or two of when the player enters the game.

This would be most useful to keep "droppers" and known multi-account players out of the game. A password is inadequate for this task, as it can't be changed, and a player wanting to "stack the deck" in their favor could easily provide the password to a "friend".

It is my belief that Game Hosts would greatly appreciate the…

  13. Game: 67729
    Ship ID: 64

Ship will reach destination (planet) in two turns via an intermediate waypoint in space.

    Turn: 14

UI states 204 kt needed to travel, left exact amount in tank

    Turn: 15

    Arrived at mid-space waypoint.

UI states now 74 kt needed, but 81kt left in tank.

Intention was to arrive at destination fuel less.

    Probable cause:

Destination is a planet so in turn 15 UI takes into account the warp well, however in turn 14 it seems that the warp well was not taken into account since it was not the immediate way point.

  14. Right now, when a player drops due to missing turns in a blitz game, the players get credited properly... but the game is still active.

This allows the surviving player to acquire a second win against a open slot, unbalancing the global statistics.

  15. It makes too big a difference if someone gets two nearby planets with excellent natives, while someone else gets none within 162LY. With this option, when the universe is created, the first ten or so planets are rolled randomly as usual but are the same for all players. Either all get good natives or none does.

  17. In a game I had notes on a probe (borg), which was destroyed. Later I saw a fed ship with notes on it regarding "HYP". Checked back to old turns, found the destroyed probe had the same note content and shared the ship ID.

Unsure if the feds could see those notes as well or if they were only visible to me.

That could also decline the problem of having weaker top-level ships compared to the competitors...

  19. Just spit balling a new wacky idea. With the Stellar Cartography add-on, it now becomes necessary to plot courses to avoid obstacles.

I have no idea how feasable this is. What i'm thinking of is instead of plotting courses in a straight line, have the game offer mathematical arcs available to your ships to travel along to avoid star clusters and debris disks. Something that would look at your waypoint, your speed, and give you a selection of arcs that would get you to your destination, while avoiding an obstacle.

    Is this even possible?

  20. Let us set Waypoints, Missions and load orders some turns in advance. 15 would be ideal for a long summer vacation.

We could use the existing feature to set future waypoints in the starmap. Every waypoint should indicate a future turn.
In the ship screen we can navigate between "now" and future turns (waypoints).

Orders can be set regardless of future reality. For example I can order "load 200 moly" for my MDSF even if the next waypoint is in space and 86ly away.

Every order that cannot be set the next turn will be ignored.
