  1. Since a large majority of us play Planets where we are allowed 1 ally, why not try a Championship Match that emulates our most common format? Have the winning two players crowned Emperor and Co-Emperor, while awarding the player with the most planets the added advantage of creating his new ship. This, I think, would lessen the back-stabbing and add to the general enjoyment we all receive when teaming with another player.

  2. gs*: two ships exchange crews. Will only work if there are exactly two ships with this fc on the same location. Options to be decided on:
    - either needs a clan on each ship,
    - or both ships get the crew count of the other ship (limited to the maximum crew count of course)

    If the 'two ships' rule is hard to do, you /could/ do a "shift all crews to the next higher ID, and the highest to the lowest (or visa versa)". This would make a threesome (...) possible - and would allow smart cloakers to do 'interesting'…

  3. Two days ago, I noticed that the email I am getting when the host runs has changed: The text representation now misses line breaks. However, I like my email client to display text-only messages. I would like to ask you to change the email notification format back to what it was before the change.

    Example:
    The emails contain the "plain-text" as
    Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

    Before the change, the text was:
    Johndoe Sector Turn 11

    Game Schedule:

    After the change, the text is now:
    Johndoe Sector Turn 11Game Schedule:
    (all in one line)

    PS: for timing of the change…

  7. I am currently running my first game with a few friends. It would avoid confusion if the EDIT GAME form was updated so that the format for the "Next Host" field was provided, just as you do for the "Host Time" field.
    This is because the usual date formats in UK & US differ: i.e. day/month/year instead of the month/day/year format used here. This leads to the risk of the date being entered wrong and the host running at the wrong time.
    Thanks.

  10. http://planets.nu/#/activity/1519012

    The min and max rank for players entering a game are static. Once set, they remain where they are for the duration of the game. This can cause problems when new players join the game. I've seen a newbie player enter a beginner game near the end, and completely change the balance of the game.

    My suggestion is that, after the game starts, the min rank be set to the lowest rank (or possibly one lower) of an active player, and that the max rank be set to the highest rank (or possibly one higher) of an active player.…

  11. I got this error when creating a new game:
    Cannot convert null to 'int' because it is a non-nullable value type at CallSite.Target(Closure , CallSite , Object ) at PlanetsAPI.AccountActions2.createcustomgame(Account account, Object settings) in
    c:\Users\Joshua\Documents\Dev\Planets\PlanetsAPI\v2\AccountActions.cs:line 2102

    If it is because I can have a max of 2 games going at once as a free player, then maybe a different error message?

    Thanks

  13. Its not an idea but a question. I believe a player has resigned from a game purchased two other logins and entered the same game. The two logins are with in days of each other and no history. What do you do?

  14. Prior discussion: http://planets.nu/#/activity/1464248

    I just finished replacment game Soccerball (http://play.planets.nu/#/sector/93476) where I improved the position of my race. As a result my sector rescue value dropped from 107,5 to 105 instead of climbing to 110.

    I noticed some other people complaining recently about their tenacity change after they have finished a game successfully.

    Calculting my sector rescue value just from my game history also results in 110%. Formula used:

    replacementtenacity = 1 + (improvedreplacement / finishedgamecount) * 0.25 * (finishedgamecount / 10);

    My numbers:
    * finishedgamecount = 10
    * improvedreplacement = 4 (3 games rank improved, 1 game…

  15. To prevent the misuse of this game mechanic. Make the base kill number for crew deaths variable each turn to prevent players from 'down-sizing' their crews to achieve combat advantages (i.e. having their ships captured rather than being destroyed). A highly variable base radiation kill rate (from x.1 to x10), players would be unable to accurate predict their crew deaths and would be unable to create heavy ships that can be captured to avoid their destruction by opponents.

  16. Let the automatic, mindless computer send automatic replacement notifications to (ranked) race players with open slots. Can be refined to search players who have played with game players in the past etc.

    "Greetings Master Big-T, there is an open Romulan position in Dropout Fest XIII, 100 planets, 50 warships. Click here to see details and possible fulfill your DESTINY!"

    Naturally users could turn these emails off.

  18. I just signed up for a premium membership for my account (username: jonmangwj). I tried to use the referral link my buddy gave me: http://planets.nu/#ref=21285

    However, when I click the link, I get directed to my account homepage (http://planets.nu/#/account/jonmangwj), and when I click through to the Upgrade page, there's nowhere to note the referral.

    I'm using Firefox on Win7.

  19. Allow for the ability to (on a limited basis, such as per race, or for X amount of money) reset your account's Campaign features that have been previously bought, gaining back all resources used, so that players who have made a mistake with their choices may correct these mistakes.
