  2. It would be nice if torps and fighters could be built as needed at the transfer screen (for planets with starbases of course), instead of having to switch over to the starbase to do it. I would just like if I when I clicked to move them from the planet to the ship they would be built automatically if I didn't have enough (or any) in stock, much like planetary buildings can be built without having to manually sell the supplies. You could flash a message letting the player know it was happening if anyone is concerned about accidentally using…

  3. VGA Planets has long been complicated significantly, and made extremely unintuitive, by the serial nature of ship combat. The order in which ships fight is difficult to visualize, tedious to arrange, and painful to execute. Various hacks (including the use of friendly codes) have helped, but in the end, have all made it MORE complex, not LESS.

    I believe that implementing fleet combat, in which all ships at a location fight simultaneously, will simplify the game and allow for a more dynamic and interesting tactical and strategic game.

  4. Lets say I have a mine field and there's an enemy Darkwing within the minefield, but I don't know the weapon layout it has because I haven't fought it yet.

    It would be nice to be able to tell the game what I think the weapon layout is, and also what mission it has.

    So if I tell the game that this ship has 10 heavy phasers and it is set to mine sweep, the minefield preview should be able to account for that and show me what my mine field would be like next turn if I was correct.

  6. It is a bit strange to randomly jump through the id's when hitting the "Next" button. Logically the ships/planets/bases closer to one another have more to do with each other and should be sorted that way.

    ideas could be: sort ships by groups (how big is the threshold for distances?) , from left to right, or from top to bottom, preferably in zigzags.

  7. I see information on planets that is completely wrong, which is fine except that it is presented to me by the game as fact. If it is information that my allies collected I don't even have any way of knowing how old the info is or what changes have taken place since it was gathered. Yet the game presents the info in the same manner as that which I gathered this turn, rather than having any indication that it is based upon old or imperfect data.

    Similarly, I have given ships to players whom I have intel-sharing with. The game…

  9. It makes too big a difference if someone gets two nearby planets with excellent natives, while someone else gets none within 162LY. With this option, when the universe is created, the first ten or so planets are rolled randomly as usual but are the same for all players. Either all get good natives or none does.

    This way we could post our problems or suggestions in a propper way, and we and the Dev's will have a better overview about whats going on.

  10. At the moment you resign that's that, i suggest some options are made available to the departing player:

    1) This race is still playable - but I can't anymore (open)
    2) This race is unplayable - I surrender it (dead)
    3) I have a replacement player (enter name here)

    Player "name here" gets an email with a link to confirm that he wants to take over, if not clicked by next host (or 24h which ever is longest) then race goes to open.

  12. Currently, the mouseover tooltip for allied ships doesn't display the owner of the ship (race and player name) as well as the ship's type. This should be fixed.

  14. I like playing 1 on 1 Blitz games with a friend.
    There should be:
    - a way to manually pick the homeworlds.
    - a customable ship limit.
    - more winning conditions including the winning condition "give up"
    - options like mineral poor/rich

  15. Implementa voting to allow for a pause a game for a short number of turns. Criteria would be 80% majority based upon military score for a military score game, or planets owned for a planet victory game.

    Player proposing holiday mode would be able to do the following;
    Propose turn/date pause will begin,
    Propose turn/date pause will end
    Can propose 1 - 7 days or 1 - 3 turns
    Voting will be open for either 7 days, until the measure passes/fails, or when the proposed holiday start time has begun.

  16. As far as I know you do not get an email when a new player joins a game or when a player drops one.

    It is true that you get that on the game info page under game events at the bottom but I think it will be useful too to get an email every time there is is an entrance on the game events.

    Basically let´s say you are one of the first to do you turn and you do not go back to the game until you get the email regarding the new turn, it could take a…

  17. The current Rank system where you have a separate rank for each race is in my opinion daft. It would be much better to have an overall player rank. We can then easily pick out players from a similar rank/experience & not have to worry/look at ranks per race.. and also I'd like to play multiple games as different races & them all count to my 'rank'.

    You also need to add medals beside player names to show things like:
    - placed (1st 2nd or 3rd)
    - Survived a game to the end
    - Finished a game with highest destruction…

  18. A tool that comes in two parts and deals with 2 different problems:

    == 1 ==
    It often happens to me that i forgot to re-set a warpsettig to a higher value after a repair, still had HYP on a Probe, or lacked fuel somewhere, things like that.
    For good 'ol VGAP3 there was a tool, Tanascius, that could check your turns for common mistakes.

    == 2 ==
    I lately experience that, due to a client-crash, i lost Cargo - it was simply gone (doublechecked that).
    I also experienced items appearing out of nowhere (also doublechecked that).

    [== What the…

  19. As per rudel:

    I always have trouble calculating how many minerals and MC I need to clone a ship. Last turn my cloning failed because I build too many fighters in the same turn...

    I initially thought this was unnecessary until I thought about it quite a bit. It is more of a hassle than in 3.5 because the ship data is not available anywhere within the game for ships you can't build. It is silly, with all the improvements you guys are making, that this should be so. Here is the solution I presented...

    My first choice is to
