  1. Very useful information to visualise for those "watching" the game, like the Scorpion game ;)

    Use the line charts to show the ship totals or even freighters/warships.

  2. Please consider adding the 'q' hotkey listener to planes/starbase screen... in addition also the 'p' hokey (planet names), 's' hotkey (search) which is also missing from Ship screen... and the 'z' hokey listener to the Ship and Starbase screens.

  3. I just sent a "contact" message to the planets.nu guys... but since it's free... I'm also posting a suggestion here :D

    Ages ago, I recall having used some plug-in named Armageddon to abruptly end our games in a spectacular way when all players agreed that the current game was lingering too much, and we wanted to start another one.

  4. Lord Helmet's useful Mod no longer works. Can it be added to the Planets.Nu interface? It imported map information into the VCR to simulate battles between your own ships and enemies. This was a GREAT time saver!

  5. Currently, if you mouseover a ship, then you'll see info about the ship, but Notes are not shown. It would be good if the mouseover also showed the Notes, since this allows you to review notes at-a-glance for the ship that you're currently interested in.

    I know that you can click the Notes button, but this opens up a pane that needs to be closed after you've looked at the note (which is really just a fiddly bit of extra clicking). That's two clicks for each set of ship notes that you otherwise just want to glance at.

  7. When I am browsing the game list, it would be very convenient if I could see the size of the game (how many planets, how many players). Right now if I want to see that information I have to click on each individual game, which is a bit of a pain. It would be nice if it would be listed in the game list under the planet icon.

    It would probably be best if it listed players signed up/total player slots, e.g. 5/11 for 5 players in a game with 11 slots.

  8. I'm playing a game as the Fascists. Several times in this game I have had cloaked ships fight a battle (and die). This time I went back and checked. It was cloaked and had no Primary Enemy set. Settings are CloakFail = 0.

  9. Put a new tab on each officer's page listing the games for which that officer is eligible. I would suggest sub tabs for "Interest", "New", and "Open". This way, when you're looking for a new game, the info is easy to find. The "Open" tab should also help encourage replacement players.

  10. Sometimes it is useful to process ships/planets/starbases in a different order than ID - particularly when the Dashboard's grid control allows you to sort them by different criteria, such as ship hull or ready status.

    It would be faster to process large numbers of items, if a hotkey were available, to help navigate back to the Dashboard grid after each object has been changed.

I have run into this a few times hosting casual private games for friends where the game has a clear leading team or player who will take another 30 or more turns to secure the victory condition. In some of the games the victory is so certain that it becomes a slog to win which causes many of the players to lose interest also slowing the game down more. It would be useful in private games to be able to prematurely trigger the end game as though the game ended by a fixed turn. As private games have no impact…

  13. Currently if you receive an in game message from another player you also receive a notification by email. However it is currently not possible to reply to that email - instead you have to log into the game and use the in game message interface, which is frustrating.

    There are several reasons why being able to reply by email is preferable:
    1) You may be at work and your boss may not be happy with you playing games.
    2) You may be out with your mobile phone, and loading the game takes 20MB of 3G/4G data, plus is slow to…

  15. Big Beefer created a full ladder system with built in achievements for Die Hard games. It is awesome - please see it here:

    Please implement this system for whole Planets.nu site and add achievement badges to the player profile page.

    This does not have to replace existing system in-place, it could compliment it like it does for existing Die Hard games.

  16. If players leave game it has pre-deciding weight to the outcome of the game. Drop, resign or hit endturn till dead cripples the joy of the remaining players. What can be done?
    There are 14 Suggestions out of the discussion on Nu.

    1.Improvement of AI and AI replacement. (Logical consequence of Gnerphks post)
    2.Improve Reward System for replacement players. To get faster a replacement player (Madinsons suggestion)
    3. Die Hard (drops prevented by social pressure.)

  17. Right now, when a player drops due to missing turns in a blitz game, the players get credited properly... but the game is still active.

    This allows the surviving player to acquire a second win against a open slot, unbalancing the global statistics.

  18. Just a streamlining:
    the combat reports for won battles display the amount of Priority Points you get. I suggest that combat reports for lost battles also display how many Priority Points the enemy gets.
    It is just a tedious work to find them, but the program always knows it, so we can save much unnecessary work.

  20. SubRace would take the place of KillRace in some games. In those games, after no replacement signs up for an open position for 3 turns, the A.I. takes over the position. All diplomatic states are returned to neutral.
