  1. would it be possible to make a pay/turn option?
    i play only one game with two turns a week. so i have to pay 0,35$ each turn. that is too much.

  2. Games with a max allies = 2 do not have a cap on intel agreements.
    There NEEDS to be a cap. These are for all intents and purposes the strongest level of alliance in the original VGA, they are very real alliances with very real in-game benefits (minefields overlaping, intercept mission vision, etc...). The NU documentation lists them as alliances.

    As a separate issue Intel agreements are not displayed in the game menu as an alliance, they really should be in my opinion.

    After another 6 months of reviewing this, we’ve decided to leave things as is. Players can work together as tightly as they like, but can not win together. This scenario creates more diplomatic options, but doesn’t take anything away from players. As we get more into the new reward system, we’ll be stronger about what official winners vs non-winners get to encourage more consideration in levels of relationships. It is meaningless to join with someone in an intel agreement and help them win, but not be a winner yourself.

  3. Since people tend to get really busy during the holidays, I would like to propose a "holiday" between December 25 and January 1 during which host only runs if all turns are submitted. Those dates are just a proposal. I am in the USA, and it may be appropriate to offset those dates a bit for those who have different holidays in other countries.

    This would give welcome respite for a week during a time when people are very likely to be traveling. But if all players are able to play, the game would still run when all submit their…

    Obviously,we didn’t give a holiday during this time. Even though other host sites have done this in the past Nu has always followed the policy of no shut downs. We’ve got the simple holiday mode button if you need to miss a turn.

    I know there are quite a few supporters of this, but we wont’ be implementing this in the future, so I’ll return these votes.

    Nu will continue to be an “always on” service so that everyone can get their fix whenever they need it. :)

  4. Turn 24 -> Turn 25 Beta22 ship 250 a biocide "appears" out of thin air and has 320 fighters. Convenient! This happens in the following turns again and again.

  5. Senior Officer game offer a different experience from regular games as players are stronger, don't resign often and use diplomacy (something new players often avoid).

    At the moment, the only Senior officer game that is available is Max Ally 0. As fills up, new one starts.

    Max ally 0 games feel like a championship game. I am enjoying it a lot however mentally you can only handle a one or maybe two such games at a time as they are very stressful.

    Declining this, as I feel it has been addressed by the game “Interest” feature. There you can easily create any of these types of games and make them publicly available.

    here you will find a really, really usefully tool with many amazing features for making your turns. I used it for a long time, when playing VGAP in the 1990ies and I'm defenitivley missing its merits.

    Just to mention some points:

    • toggling through the turns back and forward by using +/-
    • setting markers (many different forms) in space, remaining at this position and ships waypoints can be set onto them (!)
    • drawing flexible radius-measurelines around planets for muliple purposes
    • choosing colors for everything

    This isn’t really a suggestion. If you want one of the specific features from VPA please describe that feature individually so we can vote on the VPA features that are most important to move to Nu.

  7. Create two spearate lists.
    One for suggestions and one for bugs.
    I feel that bugs should inherently have a higher priority over new features to the game. This of course is not absolute, but will allow you to easier distinguish between things not working properly and things we'd like to see different.

    We can only create one forum with user voice at this moment. We may upgrade later if we feel it is unworkable. We will be prioritizing bugs in this list over new features.

  8. It seems the home order is sequencial mentor1-mentee1-mentor2-mentee2

    So mentors are alwayts between their mentee and someone elses mentee. In my first mentor game, to my east is my mentee to my west another mentee. So i have to attack him. I took out his Hw and he quit. i am bird, he is fed. it was mean but it is war ;)

    My mentee is learning mountains and the others learned the mistake of not hiding his ship traffic.

    My suggestion is to have mentor1-mentee1-mentee2-memtor2 so that mentor fight a mentor and we mentors can advice the mentees on…

    First bug confirmed.

    1-. You must be within 200 ly of a ship to intercept it but the game it not set to this 200 maximum LYs.

    Second one to be confirmed but since I am not sure if I can edit this message and it has been mentioned in the same thread. Just in case.

    2-. If the ship which is to be intercepted cloaks and is still cloaked at the time of intercepting, the interceptor's mission is reset to 'intercept' (with no target ID number) and the ship does not move.

  11. Since you can rename your ships, and you tend to have a lot of them after several turns. it can be handy to quickly find your ships, say grouped by name.
    The sort should be by number (as it is today) and also sort by name.

  12. A towing bug, discovered when lower warp speed ships with lower id manage to reset the warp speed of higher id ships with superior warp speed and towing capability just by getting a tow lock. According to Donovan's, warp speed should be reset in accordance to towing superiority, not tow lock order.

In game 20477 (http://planets.nu/games/20477), turn 34, two of my fireclouds (traveling together) ended up with 83% damage - which fits well with either a minefield hit or a glory device exploding (was near fascists, so both is a possibility). But none of the in-game messages contained information about neither. The time machine shows that both fireclouds had 0% damage the previous turn - but there is no indication where that damage came from.

  15. I'd like to be able to "hide" ready ships, planets and starbases so that when I click "next" it will move to the next item that are not ready.

    If I have for instance checked almost all the ships, today I have to go through all the ships to see if any of them are missing the ready checkmark.

    Great idea Lars, so good that’s exactly how it works.

    As CY stated just click on the “All/Idle” toggle so that you can loop through just the outstanding ships, planets or starbases. As he pointed out, if there are no idle ships then you won’t be able to toggle to idle, it will just stay on all.

  16. I would like it if the game were completely free, where winners would get points for winning, and spend those points to make games that payers get, and to

    I feel the need for this because the ability to get better starbase tech in game by paying money, imbalances the game to those who spend more money.

    Currently the bonuses received for paying are:

    Ability to raise any starbase tech levels past 7
    Ability to join more than 3 games at a time
    Access to "Inner Quadrant" games with special add-ons, features, team play and private games

    Unfortunately, running servers for thousands of players costs money! Planets Nu would be gone pretty fast without the fantastic support of our community. Thanks to everyone who supports Planets Nu!

  17. In Internet Explorer version 10.0.9200 I get the listed Error:

    Error: jQuery18304558771755602639_1368645711911 was not called
    on new version of game. Trying old version of game I get that same error on the travelling to the echo cluster screen.

    Using Mozilla Firefox version 21.0, I can't sign in on new game version (times out), and using old game version I can log in, but times out on travelling to the echo cluster screen.

    The game worked perfectly on both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox yesterday.

  19. When I use SuperSpy I've been hitting a good number of mines very early in my travels, such as between 1 - 5 lyrs or so. I can certainly believe that bad luck can come into play, but its happened so much that it would be nice if someone could check the code to make sure that SuperSpy is also factored as being cloaked when travelling through mines.

    I've had one journey where I've hit 2 consecutive mines, after 4 lyrs and then 5 lyrs of travel.

    The next turn I hit two more on separate occasions after 1 lyr…
