Add a swap sides toggle on the Battle simulator.
Many times when i want to simulate combat outcomes I find myself manually swapping the ship details from the left to right side of the simulator.
Please put a swap button in the middle of the 2 'sides' that would auto populate the same selections but on opposite sides.

Create a "Diplomacy Rating" feedback system
So that people in a game can rate how their diplomacy interactions went with a certain player after a game is finished.
I would imagine the easiest way would be after a game completes, and you could rate the diplomacy factor of a player on a scale of 5 to 10.
Maybe even a Feedback system similar to ebay!

New way to calculate ship limit
I think a good number of players think the old system of a flat 500 ships is a bit outdated. I am one of those. I don't necessarily have a problem with it but, I also think it a change to how limit is calculated could make the game deeper and fleet variation viable. As it is now there are pre determined make ups to face the threats thrown at you not a lot of variation. I propose that the limit be based on fleet weight. With bonuses for Empire growth.

Incondicional or condicional alliance
When you give a diplomatic "share intel" or "alliance" you can give it in a Inconditional mode (+), independently whatever other player do, or in a Conditional mode (~) that you will give automatically the information if the other player also gives to you.
Also, if you are in a conditional mode (~), and the other player take out the diplomacy, you automatically remove the sharing.
player1 Incoditional (+), player2 nothing (-) => player1 shares, player2 no shares
player1 Incodicional (+), player2 conditional (~) => player1 shares, player2 shares
player1 Incodicional (+), player2 inconditional (+) => player1 shares, player2 shares…

Should be able to cycle through specific ship type
I would like for there to be a way where I can tell the game that I just want to cycle through my Super Transport Freighters for example.

Unified Winner Games with Achievement Point Entry Fee
I think the Emperor game goes in the right direction by putting your Achievement points at risk. I think an interesting game would be: (Even if I were losing I would stick to the end; I paid my points!)
Unified Winner game:
Cost to enter = 200 Achievement points in the race you are joining, immediately deducted.
Winner (Most Planets) - gains 2200 Achievement points (net gain = 2000 pts)
10 losers - get nothing - already lost 200 Achievement points
Winning condition = 200 planets or agreement of all current players.
Players gain experience normally and get destruction points…

Improvement: Allow for more detailed configuration of private games
Not much else to say.
It would be nice to be able to change settings in the config, alter how homeworld positions are calculated etc.

BUG: BLITZ Game - Reading last turn messages exposes opponent's their minefield FC
Playing BLITZ game, both players lay mines. Both players minesweeping. I go back 1 turn via Time Machine, to check messages. In my past-turn message list, I see the minesweep results of opponent's ships - including readings on his own minefield, with the friendly code. I, of course, being the honorable player that I am... use the new information to my advantage.

Force Holiday mode for non-registered players
The current Holiday mode is a feature that registered players receive. What about forcing Holiday mode for non-registered players. I've played several games where others have held up the host from running in the early stages of the game. I know there can be good reasons to do this, but it seems like half time its a pre-req for a missed turn.
How about only letting registered players hold the host from running. non-registered players would be required to get their moves in quickly because if you didn't Holiday mode would kick in and the host would run.

Set priority for planet buildings
Basically there should be a way to tell the game what order you want your buildings erected in.
For example lets say I want 14 factories first, and then 21 defense posts next.
I should be able to set this priority in some way where I can put 14 max factories and 21 max defense posts and the game knows that I want the 14 factories FIRST and then the 21 defense posts.

New player replacment / open slot rules
Following darvsters proposals I suggest:
"What I believe we need is some sort of notice period for joining players. This could be in the form of when a player joins, firstly a notice is sent out to all players telling them that "Player# has joined the #Race"

Upgrade the forum to phpbb
The nu forum is already quite nice and integrated with the game but it is lacking quite a few important features like sticky threads and search. My idea would be to use a phpbb forum for nu. It's completely free and has all the features built in.

When click on message from ship, planet or base, open sending object's screen
For example, when a ship tells me it's over a new planet, open the ship screen so I can drop clans. Also good when minesweeping (continue sweeping or move on), rioting, invaded (build more defense), and probably other events.
