Create in 0 Ally games a option to disable ally relation with start of safe passage
Back to the Planets roots and for the Player who not want jump deep into the game of words (diplomacy) to conquer only with multi race tech. Real 0 ally games was even a long time state of the art in Planets. There are much more reasons to ask why this option is not already available since the Planets nu start! :)
The separate limits on Safe Passage and Share Intel were added some time ago. Closing.

The new Diplomatic Limits option in game creation allows this to be done.
This should be closed as complete.
Anyone who voted for this can remove their votes and put them to better use.

A clarification to m last comment:
"My prefered configuration for standard 11 player games with max allies = 1 would be:
max allies = 1, max SI = 1, max SP = 2"This should just express my personal opinion. I think this would be the best compromise between still allowing many vs. few attacks and giving the "few" a better chance to defend.
But this is disputable of course. Creating an option for private games if fine. -

I want to support a general solution: Make the maximum number of SP and SI a configuration parameter for games just like the maximum number of allies.
Setting a high alliance level should consume 1 number of the required lower alliance levels. This allows all kinds of game setup.Examples:
* game with max allies = 1, max SI = 1, max SP = 1: you can go up to ally with one player. nothing else.
* game with max allies = 1, max SI = 1, max SP = 2: you can go up to ally with one player. in addition you can set SP with one other player.
* game with max allies = 1, max SI = 0, max SP = 0: invalid parameters. My prefered configuration for standard 11 player games with max allies = 1 would be:
max allies = 1, max SI = 1, max SP = 2Reasons for limiting SP/SI:
* make it harder to form big alliances - often way beyond the number of max allies. see detailed explanation below why this would be good.
* make it more costly to persude a not caring player just to operate this Gorbie on rob mission or this Emerald on lay webs mission.*** detailed explanation (from http://planets.nu/#/activity/2942078) ***
I personally was on both sides of a huge ability stack and it didn't feel right in either case. Of course I do all what helps to win as long as it is conform to the rules. It would significantly influence my strategy if SP is limited e.g. to the max ally setting. I would play more offensive and would earlier expose myself as someone going for to win. This would be possible because the following notorious flow of events becomes less likely to be successfull:
1. The first player/alliance gets ahead - probably because of good play. Unfortunately they don't know about a certain psychological trap.
2. Many of the other players / alliances start working together to prevent the leaders from winning. During this hard struggle they fight side by side, share defeats and victories and this creates close bonds.
3. The first alliance is smashed by the superior number of enemies and the incredible options of their stacked abilities. Now another player or alliance is the leading one.
4. All starts at 1? No! Because of the meanwhile close bonds between them and the already long running battle the remaining players let one player / team win. There are a few games in which this sequence runs two times, but three times is already extremly rare.
If you know this typical flow of events you can delay your victory claim until another one does. Then you can play the role of a leader of the resistance, be the good guy and finally win without being challenged further. I'd appreciate if this wouldn't be so easy and the ones who dare to play aggressively have a better change to get the job done.

This should definately be added! It's pretty stupid when zero ally games turn into a coalition war... There is still plenty of room for diplomacy in zero ally game. Just make zero ally "coalition wars" and "team games" harder to form.
I joined one of the zero ally games with a hope of it being a on your own game... now it's a coalition war and it will take much longer to finish and requires much more work to play the turns. :(
Adding the setting should be 5min work since you just disable some of the diplomacy settings. If you want to make fancier settings then it needs more work... But disabling some diplomacy settings would be a good start.
